Weddings in Berry, NSW:

Rustic Charm Meets Romantic Elegance

On the South Coast, Berry offers an enchanting blend of natural beauty, heritage architecture, and boutique style that makes it a favourite destination for weddings. It’s only about two hours from Sydney, which means you can have a destination feel without travelling half the country.

What Makes Berry Special

  • Landscape & Atmosphere
Green farmland, vineyards, orchards, dams, creeks and elegant gardens are all part of Berry’s charm. These settings are ideal for outdoor ceremonies, scenic photo shoots, and reception dinners under the trees or in rustic sheds.
  • Heritage & Unique Venues
Venues like the Berry Courthouse & Gardens bring character — stately buildings, classic architecture, and photo-worthy private gardens that look beautiful in any season. Other spots like “The Homestead”, Willow Farm and Eleven Eighty offer a mix of modern luxury and rustic elegance.
  • Flexible Styling Options
Berry venues tend to offer many options. Think barn or shed receptions, marquee options, marquee-free marquee sites, garden lawns, historic halls, etc. Mostly DIY or BYO options exist, which lets couples bring their own style — décor, flowers, even food vendors.
  • Accommodation & Weekend-Long Events
Many venues in Berry have guest accommodation on-site or nearby, making weekend weddings possible so guests don’t just attend the ceremony, they stay, relax, enjoy.

Venue Examples to Consider

  • Willow Farm Berry — 160 acres of farmland with gorgeous gardens, creek, dam, barn, marquee sites, and a restored farmhouse for stay.
  • The Homestead Berry — Rustic meets luxury, with landscaped gardens, The Cowshed reception space, timber rotunda, and places for intimate or larger gatherings.
  • Berry Courthouse & Gardens — Historic venue with private hedged garden, beautiful architecture, good for both ceremonies and receptions.
  • Eleven Eighty — Boutique, whimsical and very “Berry” with character; offers flexibility and beautiful photo-backdrops.

Tips for Planning a Wedding in Berry

  1. Book Early
Because Berry is popular for weddings, especially at prime venues, they tend to get booked 12-18 months in advance.
  2. Check Vendor Access
If you’re DIY or BYO, check whether your venue allows your choice of caterers, celebrants, decorators, etc. Also assess whether there are restrictions (sound, timings, power, etc.).
  3. Accommodation for Guests
With multiple stays on or near venue properties, plan lodging for guests early. Berry has boutique stays, farmhouses, and venues with accommodations.
  4. Weather Contingencies
For outdoor ceremonies (garden, lawns, etc.), ensure there’s a wet-weather option (hall, marquee, courtyard). Heritage venues like Berry Courthouse often provide indoor backup. )
  5. Local Services
Berry has a good network of local photographers, florists, stylists, catering etc., plus vendors who are used to working in rural settings. This can make coordination easier.
  6. Design & Personalisation
Bring your aesthetic preferences—rustic, vintage, modern, boho—and reach out to venues that align. Berry’s blank-canvas type venues let you personalise heavily.

A Celebrant for Weddings in Berry

A wedding in Berry offers something truly magical: the combination of rustic elegance, natural beauty, and flexible, charming venues. It’s ideal for couples who want a more intimate, meaningful occasion without sacrificing style or scenic impact. With good planning, the right team (venue, celebrant, vendors), and thoughtful decisions, a Berry wedding can be both unforgettable and deeply personal.

There are many ideas and rituals we can include in a wedding ceremony.

In addition to the wedding ceremony script,  the couple chose to also include a very touching gesture. So the groom presented his mother with a thank you rose for all the years of love and support she has given him. While the bride will acknowledge her mum’s love today on mother’s day via Skype.

The couple also chose a unique ritual from the many wedding rituals that I offer all the couples.
They put aside a box with wine, two wine glasses and two love letters they wrote to each other. Then, one day they will read those letters, maybe on their 10th, 20th or 25th anniversary.
